How do I Care for my Barefoot Shoes and Sandals?

When you take your HIGH FEELS shoes on many small and big adventures it is important that you clean them regularly, air them out afterwards and never store them damp/wet.  This way they will last for a long time.

Please do not impregnate your HIGH FEELS shoes. Those sprays and gels usually contain harmful substances and are not suitable for direct skin contact. Besides that, it's unnecessary and there won't be any benefit.

How do I Clean my Sandals?

  • You can easily remove light dirt or loose dust with a damp cloth.
  • For heavier stains, use a cloth dipped in water mixed with a mild detergent – shampoo works pretty well. A soft brush might do the trick for very stubborn stains. Then rinse your sandals thoroughly under running water and let them air dry.

Please do not put your sandals in the washer. And don’t use a tumble dryer or blow dryer to dry them off, as both appliances will produce too much heat.

What can I do if my Sandals start to Smell after Wear?

The insole and the inside of the sandal straps are made from a breathable microfibre that will absorb as well as give off moisture. This could lead to your sandals smelling a bit funky. To get rid of these smells, it is usually enough to give them a good cleaning.

If this doesn’t help: moisten the soles thoroughly and then sprinkle sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) all over the soles. Rub it in and let it sit overnight, then remove it with some water. The baking soda will saponify fats and neutralize the fatty acids that are responsible for the smell (yes, the smelly stuff will be turned into soap! Isn't that awesome?).
