We won the PETA Vegan Fashion Award 2026
With this award, PETA recognizes brands, products and online shops that show how fashion can look good, work well and feel good without animal-derived materials. According to PETA, the selection criteria include fit, quality, innovation, comfort and vegan labeling.
The fact that our sandals have received this award means a lot to us, because we — the HIGH FEELS founders Yamina and Daniel — have been privately caring for abandoned and injured animals for many years: We take them to the vet, take them in, and whenever possible, find them a home.
Most of them are abandoned kittens and puppies, or older, often injured dogs and cats. This year alone, so far, we have taken care of two abandoned puppies, one permanently paralyzed cat and two tiny kittens.
On Christmas Eve, we heard about an older paralyzed dog lying in a field. We drove out in the dark, actually found him, and the first thing he did was bite Yamina’s hand. 😆
After five days in the veterinary clinic and four weeks of care, he fully recovered. Today he is sweet, happy and part of our family, together with our other four dogs and five cats (all rescues).
Until now, we have done all of this privately, but we are reaching our limits. At the same time, we know many people and organizations who do not look away, but rescue, feed and rehome animals every day. What they need most, is financial support.
The PETA Vegan Fashion Award motivates us not only to offer beautiful vegan alternatives to conventional shoes and barefoot shoes, but we hope that we'll soon be able to help animals in need on a larger scale.
